Federal and State Regulations
Tattoo removal lasers are Class IV medical devices which means their sale is restricted by Federal Law to licensed physicians. Your tattoo shop must have a supervising physician who is willing to oversee the use of your laser. State laws vary regarding the requirements of that supervision but in many states supervision can occur off-site, meaning your physician can delegate the procedure to a technician and does not need to be present on-site for all procedures.
Check with your state medical board to determine the requirements in your state for physician delegation rules
